Speakwell Consulting Limited is recruiting to fill the following vacant positions:
Job Title: Claim Officer
Location: Lagos
Responsibilities
- Assist the unit head to implement & register new claims
- Confirm from the policy documents if the loss reported is covered
- Guides the client in the registration of new claims with respect to the appropriateness of the policy
- Notifies the Underwriters of reported claims
- Assists the client in claims documentation.
- Manages relationship with t he client and co-insurers
- Oversees settlement proposals
- Oversees clients’ correspondence and information before these are transferred to the co-insurers
- Liaises with the unit head on the technical aspects of a claim
- Pursues claim settlement cheques from underwritters
- Ensures that clients are promptly settled
Skills Required
- Technical proficiency
- Creative skills and flexibility
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Initiative – ability to work with minimal supervision
- Teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of insurance claims handling and claims management processes
- Ability to use and knowledge of modern office equipment, including Microsoft Windows software, etc
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and writing.
- Ability to interview complainants and witnesses
Qualification
- A good degree (BSc/HND) in the Social Sciences
- Post graduate degree would be an added advantage
- Relevant professional qualifications a must

Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience
